Combustion engines need to operate at the recommended temperature to generate power efficiently. The engine has a cooling system responsible for mitigating excessive heat that would otherwise heat the engine’s components and cause damage. The cooling system also helps the engine to generate power efficiently. If the heart of engine cooling is the water pump, then the coolant fluid is the blood. Coolant fluid cycles through the engine to collect heat and then pumped to the radiator where the fluid cools.
